Macromedia's upcoming release of Macromedia Studio 2006, including Dreamweaver MX2006 and Fireworks MX2006, is causing much excitement in the web design community.

The Macromedia User Groups (in Australia at least) have started sending out invitations (I received mine on the 27th of July 2005, to an event where "Macromedia Showcases New Products".

The last time I went to something like this it was the launch of Studio MX, if like me, you're hungry for more info read on.

A recent poll showed that some users would not upgrade because..

• Because of a possible Adobe merger, I don't plan to upgrade/buy MX2006.
• Because of a possible Adobe merger, I plan to wait before I upgrade/buy.

My feeling is that until you have seen what the new program is capable of you can't really make an appropriate decision on whether buying it is good value for you.
